For the first time in yonks I couldn’t find somewhere 😳

I looked at the map, cross referenced with the stars up above and still, nothing!

I had to swallow my pride and call the phone number given for contact.

In my defence it was an off grid building site but the damage is done. At this point seasoned couriers are reading with disgust, eyes slit, brows knit and generally a face of disgust towards me. Pathetic me aye.

I called the site contact who happens to be the construction site manager. Only he isn’t expecting me until tomorrow. Remember that ‘communication’ thing I’m always moaning about. Well, yeah. That!

So cancellation charge and I go elsewhere.

The day after site manager calls me around 9am. He wants to know my whereabouts. I told him that I’m no longer involved in this collection. He said he knows. Another courier has just turned up, collected the stuff that needed to be collecting and a lot of other stuff too. Now he can’t get hold of him. Do I know who it is? So yeah, communication can stop this sort of thing happening.

Thankfully nothing else worth noting happened.

Until.

A rather well established courier outfit beg me to knock £5 off my quote at rush hour, eventually he gave up but insisted I need to collected and deliver asap. All the staff are going home, it’s really important, that sort of thing. Sure thing.

Then he kindly informs me that I need to meet his driver for a collection. Who happens to be parked on the hard shoulder of the M4. Broken down!

I kindly declined. He insisted it’s fine and safe. I declined a bit more sarcastically until he got the message.

Honestly do customers know about the clowns they’ve got handling their consignments.

In other more pressing news I’ve been on a mission to find some plant pots this week. So up and down the country at various garden centres I came across some lovely colourful things. My god they certainly aren’t easy on the wallet!
